A bunch of new faces this summer!

Makenna Depage is a honours student who is working with Ishneet this summer, understanding swelling and shrinking behaviour of chitisan gauze using acidic anhydrides on reconstructed chitin! Her work is supported by CREATE SEED funding.

Natalie Chang is an undergraduate student working with Justine this summer on the development of pre-treatment methods for valorization of chitinous waste.

Finally, we are very excited to host Bérénice Baltzinger, a visiting Masters student from École Polytechnique (Palaiseau) in the group for project this school year, working Bérénice will be working with Austin on functionalizing chitosan through mechanochemical methods.
