Congrats Dr. Galen! —

A huge congratulations to Dr. Galen Yang on a great defence and fantastic work! Galen presented his thesis titled “Unlocking the potential of polysaccharides with mechanochemistry and aging modification” on his work on core-shell silica nanoparticles for confined- and photo-catalysis.

Now that he has completed his Ph.D., Julio is starting as a post doctoral fellowship at École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne (EPFL) with Prof. Jeremy Luterbacher in the Laboratory of Sustainable and Catalytic Processing. Julio was awarded a Banting Scholarship to work with Prof. Luterbacher on designing bifunctional nanocatalysts for the low-temperature upgrading of lignin.
